Our teams have successfully completed latest recertification audit, renewing four international management system certifications covering quality, security, occupational health and safety, and environmental management.
The renewed certifications are:
- ISO 9001:2015 | Quality management
- ISO 28000:2022 | Security and resilience – security management systems
- ISO 45001:2018 | Occupational health and safety management
- ISO 14001:2015 | Environmental management
A common language for international business
Freight forwarding brings together companies, carriers, suppliers and other partners operating across different countries, industries and regulatory environments. In such a setting, internationally recognized standards provide a common framework against which organizations and their management processes can be assessed. Certificates can help establish trust between business partners because they provide an independently assessed reference point. But the certificate itself is only the visible part. Behind it are the processes, responsibilities, controls, monitoring and continuous improvement activities that are applied throughout everyday operations.
For GOPET TRANS, operating internationally and serving customers from a wide range of industries, the four management systems cover areas that have direct relevance to how we work.
Quality management | ISO 9001:2015
Quality in freight forwarding depends much more than whether a shipment reaches its destination. It also depends on how consistently processes are followed, how customer requirements are managed, how issues are addressed and how organisations learn from their performance.
ISO 9001 provides a framework for establishing, maintaining and continually improving a quality management system. It places emphasis on customer requirements, process management, performance evaluation and continuous improvement. For an international freight forwarder, having structured quality processes helps create consistency across activities involving different services, customers, suppliers and markets.
Security management | ISO 28000:2022
Security has become an increasingly important part of supply chain management.
International freight movements involve multiple parties, physical locations, information exchanges and handovers. Managing the associated risks therefore requires processes that extend beyond the individual shipment.
ISO 28000:2022 specifies requirements for a security management system and explicitly includes aspects relevant to the supply chain. It provides organisations with a structured approach to establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving security management. For GOPET TRANS, this framework complements the operational controls and risk-management processes involved in managing international freight and working with customers and transport partners across our network.
Occupational health and safety | ISO 45001:2018
Logistics is ultimately a people business. Whether activities take place in an office, warehouse or transport environment, identifying occupational risks and maintaining appropriate health and safety processes are fundamental responsibilities. ISO 45001 provides the framework for systematically managing occupational health and safety risks, with the objective of providing safe and healthy workplaces and continually improving occupational health and safety performance.
Environmental management | ISO 14001:2015
Transport and logistics activities also have an environmental dimension that needs to be understood and managed systematically.
An environmental management system provides the structure for identifying relevant environmental aspects, managing responsibilities, monitoring performance and working towards defined environmental objectives.
ISO 14001 provides this framework, helping organisations integrate environmental considerations into their management processes rather than treating them as separate, one-off initiatives.
Why recertification matters
Management system certification is not a one-time exercise. The processes behind a certificate need to remain active and continue meeting the applicable requirements. Certification therefore involves ongoing monitoring and audits, with periodic recertification providing an external assessment of whether the management system continues to conform to the relevant standard. This is an important distinction. The value of certification does not come from having four logos to display. It comes from maintaining the systems behind them.
For our customers and partners, the successful recertification provides independent verification of the management frameworks supporting key areas of our operations: quality, supply chain security, occupational health and safety, and environmental management. For us internally, it is also part of a continuous process. Standards provide the framework, but maintaining and improving the processes behind them remains an everyday responsibility.
