In an interview with Logistikata magazine, Peter Petrov, CEO of Gopet Group, speaks about industry’s challenges and the Gopet’s development plans. Geo-political factors affecting the forwarding sector are the political situation in Turkey and indirect impact on the economy of the country, and also BREXIT and illegal migrants’ wave in United Kingdom and in whole Europe. Petrov discussed also about Gopet focus on intermodal solutions and current projects, such as an intermodal terminal in Sofia, projects we focus our efforts and resources, but suffer from lack of support by the government – absence of modern railway infrastructure, for example. „Intermodal terminal in Sofia will be interesting to businesses only if we can make the connection in Vidin up and then to Turkey.“
Groupage services are also a priority for Gopet. Petrov says the company will continue developing this segment of services and points out to the creation of a mature traffic corridor of groupages between Athens, Sofia and Bucharest, with regular lines and diverse services. Another major priority for Gopet is investment in people and technologies, a key factor ensuring that Gopet maintains the high quality services offered to Clients.
